INTRO TO TEXTURED HAIR TECHNIQUES
EDUCATOR: JOY DJADI
3 DAY COURSE - £495.00
This is a 3 day Introductory Course aimed at Makeup Artists & Trainee Makeup Artists in the Film, Fashion & Television industries. This course is taught by Joy Djadi, an experienced senior lecturer & consultant in all areas of Hairdressing including African & Caribbean Hair. This course is an introductory level & intensive.
Day 1:
Hair Types - Textured hair & correct use of tools
The use of heated products & protective technique
The science of curly to curly to afro hair
Blow drying techniques

Two stranded twists

BALD CAP APPLICATION
EDUCATOR: ADRIAN RIGBY

This is a unique opportunity to learn from Adrian who is a leading specialist in Bald Caps & SFX in the UK Film Industry. Adrian has worked in the Film & TV Industry for over two decades on a variety of roles in SFX Makeup. Throughout his career he has worked with Nick Dudman who was a big support at the beginning of his career. Adrian has an in-depth background of film work including the Harry Potter films, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Wars, Fantastic Beasts, The Witches, The Avengers, Last Night in Soho, Carnival Row. In TV he has worked on Dr Who, Cursed & the Witcher.

WOMEN OF COLOUR MASTERCLASS

This one day Masterclass covers the basics of working on darker skin tones, colour theory & correct product selections.
The morning session will focus on a demonstration, Q & A session followed by attendees working on models in the afternoon.

FOUNDATION HAIR & MAKEUP
6 WK COURSE - £5,000.00
Establish foundation skills in hair and makeup with a variety of technique and learning systems to develop a style of creativity while defining the areas of the makeup industry you wish to work in.
This course is aimed at a beginner level and sessions comprise of demonstrations, group work, seminars, discussion and technical skills building.
This is an intensive course offering fundamental training in hair and makeup with the skills required for the beauty, bridal and fashion industries. You will be given daily feedback and goal setting targets each week to encourage you to work on specific areas. Open your mind to new techniques and approaches to hair and makeup styling. There is a wide variety of makeup, hair products and equipment to experiment with. You will work towards two assessments on the course with the final day comprising of a photographic shoot.
Students will receive their own Hair and Makeup Kit as a part of the course plus a training book and a Makeup Directory.

TRAINEE BOOT CAMP
6 DAYS - £800.00
This an intensive course aimed at graduates who have completed full training on a course in hair and makeup wishing to enter into the Film and Television Makeup Industries. This course offers a unique opportunity to recap skills, accuracy & to build speed while working to set time limits within the scenario of a Crowd Room simulation. Daily delivery will be a variety of set briefs & mood boards based on a selection of productions. The aim is for the Boot Camp team to create a range of characters on a daily basis. This will incorporate period hair, period makeup, postiche work, laying on hair, fantasy makeup & creative hair styling; plus a test day to establish creative characters. You will work on models for the afternoon sessions & will create a daily series of Continuity Sheets
Day 1:
Character analysis, script breakdown, continuity records, call sheet instructions, trainee expectations, onset etiquette. This is a practical session based on Light Entertainment Hair & Makeup
Day 2:
Fittings for Period Hair & Makeup designs covering early 1970's to mid 1980's, working as a team to recreate a series of characters.
Day 3:
Fittings for Period Hair & Makeup with casualty effects working to set designs, call sheet times and recreating a series of designs based on the 1940's era.
Day 4:
Fittings for Period Hair & Makeup incorporating the early Victorian Era for Male and Female Characters, this session will incorporate hair, makeup & facial hair attachments.
Day 5:
Business of Makeup Seminar, personal planning, timing tests & prep day for photographic shoot
Day 6:
Photographic Shoot Day and feedback session
